A short walk on 34th Street in Manhattan. Going west from the Herald Square station (at the Broadway and 6th Avenue crossing) up to 7th Avenue. It’s quite warm – about 39F, though rather cloudy. It’s Friday morning, January 20. A significant date for America – the inauguration day of Donald Trump, but a day as usual outside Washington.
Leaving the subway station. It’s around 9 a.m. so the morning rush is over and you can only see some late stragglers in the street.
Crossway at 34th Street – Macy’s flagship store.
Empire State Building is so close you need to lift your head up and the buildings come “tumbling down”.
Further west – past Macy’s store on the right.
Subway exit at 7th Avenue.
7th Avenue and Penn Station on the right. In 34th Street – between 7th and 8th Avenue you can find some NYC attractions and shopping opportunities at discount stores.
7th Avenue with Times Square neon lights in the distance. Typical New York “chaos”.
The last glimpse of 34th Street.
